Post Hi, new to Dr. Curry here.
Hi, my name is Robin, I am 39 years old. I had gastric bypass surgery in Sept 2003 and have gained almost 100 lbs back of my weight that was lost so now I am going to attempt lap band with Dr. Curry. I met him a couple weeks ago at my consultation. I had my Upper G.I. and had my psych evaluation with Dr. Behrman too. I'll be going to Jewish Hospital on 11/12/09 for my EGD procedure which kind of makes me a little nervous...any feedback on that EGD from any other patients would be helpful to me like what exactly goes on that day, what should I expect? Hope to talk to more patients that are going thru what I am about to go through. :)

Robin,

Basically, you will come to the hospital and they will get an IV started. We'll give you some drugs to knock you out but you'll be breathing on your own. The procedure takes about 15 minutes usually, and typically patients don't remember a thing. You'll be out of there within an hour after you're done as well.

Hi Robin! Did you get the lap band? Like you I have gained back a large amount of my lost weight. On Friday I found out that I have been approved for a revision by my insurance with the Dr who did my bypass but that is in Oregon and I am now living in Ohio! I love my doctor there but do I want to travel back there monthly? I am patiently waiting to hear back and try and get appointments with Dr. Curry's staff to see if I might be a canidate for surgery by him and how compatiable he and his staff are with me! I would like to hear from anyone who has had a revision after a bypass and any of Dr. Curry's patients. Thanks! 1sassygranny@gmail.com
